BIO
The Italian pianist Valentina Lombardo began playing the piano when she was only four years old, showing immediately innate musical skills that led her, only a few years later, to win the second prize at the XIII “Città di Genova” Piano Competition.
She continued her studies at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Turin (Italy), where she graduated in piano with top marks and afterwards
obtained the Second Level Academic Diploma.
She perfected herself at the Ecole Normal A.Cortot in Paris (France) attending the “Cours Professionnel Superieur” in the Nelson Delle-Vigne Fabbri’s class.
Among her teachers we find internationally renowned musicians, such as Massimiliano Damerini, Malcolm Bilson, Henri Barda, Temenuschka Vesselinova, Pietro De Maria, Andrea Lucchesini.
Valentina Lombardo is the winner of numerous international scholarships and in 2009 won the first overall prize at the “Città di Ozegna” Piano Competition.
She regularly performs, both as a soloist and in chamber ensembles, in France, Italy and Belgium.
Her repertory is broad and quite eclectic, from baroque to modern music, with a special attention to French Impressionism.
She’s also particularly interested in contemporary music; she made the first run of many pieces by H.Legrand, A. Bellandi and P.Shroeder.
She has a stable collaboration with the Italian composer Carlo Francesco Defranceschi, recording his complete piano works for the label Valle Giovanni Edizioni Musicali.
The Italian pianist Valentina Lombardo released the album “Métamorphose d’une feuille”, a collection of 24 new piano preludes, “Lumiére”, containing both solo and chamber music given by the unusual piano and harpsichord ensemble and the latest “Eclipse”, featuring Nocturnes and Estampes for piano solo.
